
Senate Republican Leaders Support Sunflower's Application for the Expansion at Holcomb Facility
TOPEKA – (August 3, 2010) - Kansas Senate President Stephen R. Morris, R-Hugoton, joined with Senate Majority
Leader Derek Schmidt, R-Independence, and Senate Vice President John Vratil, R-Leawood, to
offer an official written statement in support of Sunflower Electric Power Cooperative’s
Holcomb Expansion Project application. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment set
public hearings regarding the application for Monday in Overland Park, for Wednesday, Aug. 4,
in Salina and Thursday, Aug. 5 in Garden City.

Sublette Girls Page for Senate President Steve Morris in Topeka
TOPEKA – (March 22, 2010) - Senate President Steve Morris (R-Hugoton) today welcomed Sublette Middle School sixth graders Ceann Greeson and Olivia Clancy to the Kansas Statehouse. The girls visited the state capitol in Topeka to serve as pages for the day in the Kansas Senate. Ceann, 12, is the daughter of Greg and Whitney Greeson of Kismet, Kan.; Olivia, also 12, is the daughter of Frank and Rebecca Clancy of Sublette.

School sixth graders Garrett Hamlin and Caleb Gayer to the Kansas Statehouse. The boys visited
the state capitol inTopeka to serve as pages for the day in the Kansas Senate. Garrett, 12, is the son of Ryan and Hilda Hamlin of Moscow, Kan.; Caleb, also 12, is the son of Todd and Sonja Gayer of Hugoton.

Hugoton Girls Serve as Pages for Senate President Steve Morris
TOPEKA – (March 15, 2010) - Senate President Steve Morris (R-Hugoton) today welcomed to the Kansas
Statehouse Erin Perry and Kristan Crawford from Hugoton Middle School. The two 6th grade
girls came to Topeka to serve as pages for the day in the Kansas Senate.
Erin, 12, is the daughter of Sheldon and Joan Perry. Kristan, also 12, is the daughter of Mark and
Keri Crawford. Mr. Crawford accompanied the girls on their trip to the capitol.

Hugoton Students Travel to Topeka to Serve as Pages for Senate President Steve Morris
TOPEKA – (March 2, 2010) - Senate President Steve Morris (R-Hugoton) welcomed a group of
students from Hugoton Middle School to serve as pages for the day in the Kansas Senate. Adam
Scott, Logan Romero, Kyra Skinner and Serena Turpin made the trip accompanied by Kyra’s
parents, Tony and Jackie Bruce; and Adam’s mother, Susie Scott. Logan is the son of Tommy
Romero and Serena is the daughter of Doug and Rosa Turpin.

Lawrence International Exchange Students Join Local Girls to Shadow Senate President Steve Morris for a Day at the Capitol
TOPEKA – (February 17, 2010) - On Tuesday, February 16, Senate President Steve Morris (R-Hugoton) welcomed International
Exchange Students Maria Jose Espinoza and Silvana Anahi Scheid to the capitol to “shadow” him and his staff
for the day in the Kansas Senate. The exchange students were accompanied by Ashley Rassmussen and Stephanie
Crandon of Lawrence. All four are students at Lawrence Freestate High School; Ashley is a sophomore and the
other three girls are seniors.
